Broken Tine Orchard - Friceys Fruit-Covered Ice Cream Bars Case Study
Project Overview:
With Friceys’ beloved fruit-covered ice-cream bars getting a packaging refresh, I produced a series of vibrant 3D product illustrations to highlight the brand’s signature flavour lineup—Haskap Berry, Raspberry, Cherry, and more—while showcasing the new pack design in a bright, appetizing setting.
Role and Responsibilities:
- 3D Illustration & Rendering – Modelled, textured, and lit each bar wrapper and hero fruit cluster for photoreal impact.
- Art Direction – Crafted a playful yet premium composition that lets each flavour’s colour story shine while feeling cohesive as a family.
- Post-Production – Composited, colour-graded, and retouched in Photoshop for flawless print- and web-ready assets.
Challenges:
- True-to-Fruit Accuracy – Re-creating specialty berries (e.g., haskap) with lifelike detail to ensure instant flavour recognition.
- Packaging Consistency – Matching the refreshed wrapper colours and foil textures exactly, so digital visuals mirrored the on-shelf product.
- Unified Look – Balancing four distinct SKUs in one hero scene without clutter while preserving individual flavour cues.
Outcome:
The final 3D visuals rolled out across social ads, e-commerce listings, and in-store signage, giving Friceys a flexible library of high-resolution imagery that replaced costly photoshoots and kept brand visuals consistent across every touchpoint.
Key Highlights:
- Showcased four core flavours in one cohesive hero illustration.
- Detailed fruit models emphasized Friceys’ real-fruit credentials.
- Digital assets easily updated for future promotions without new photography.
- Supported marketing, packaging, and retail channels with a single visual toolkit.
